Following a heavy crash while testing for the Suzuka 8-Hour, Honda HRC Castrol have confirmed that Luca Marini has been hospitalised after sustaining multiple injuries.

The Italian, who travelled to Japan after the British GP, completed a successful first day of testing on Honda’s CBR1000RR-R SP. However, on day two, Marini crashed and suffered a dislocated left hip, damage to the ligaments in his left knee, fractures in the sternum and left collarbone, and a right-sided pneumothorax.
