Pierre-Louis Loubet has withdrawn from this week’s Rally Italy Sardinia after a crash on recce that injured co-driver Loris Pascaud.

Loubet was due to start his second WRC2 event of the season after returning to the M-Sport fold at last month’s Rally Portugal, where he finished seventh in the category.

In a statement on social media, Loubet said: “Unfortunately we won’t be starting Rally Sardinia. We had an accident during the recce, and Loris was injured in the process.

“Luckily it’s nothing too serious, but unfortunately he won’t be fit to start the rally.

“Of course we’re disappointed, I really enjoy this event, but health comes first and we’ll be back stronger.

“Thanks a lot for your support and see you soon.”

Loubet is due to start the next round of the WRC, Acropolis Rally Greece, in three weeks.
