Just when we thought the Nevera hypercar couldn't get any crazier, Rimac upped the ante with the Nevera R. Hiding a new battery pack and even more powerful motors under its svelte carbon fiber exterior, the Nevera R delivered a whopping 2,107 horsepower and a top speed of 256 miles per hour—193 horsepower more than the previous Nevera.
Now, the Nevera R has come for its predecessor's records.
The Rimac Nevera R recently broke 24 world speed records—including 23 held by the previous Nevera. The most significant of which being the 0-249-0 mph record, which the company reclaimed from Koenigsegg with a blistering time of 25.79 seconds. That's 2.04 seconds quicker than the Regera and 4.14 seconds faster than the original Nevera.
The Nevera R also beat the previous Nevera’s 0-60 mph time, getting there in just 1.66 seconds. The hypercar also hit 124 mph in 3.95 seconds and 186 mph in a ridiculous 7.89 seconds. Plus many, many more.
Here’s a list of every speed record the Nevera R broke:
"When we first introduced Nevera, it almost seemed like the pinnacle of hypercar performance had been reached," notes founder and CEO Mate Rimac.
"In a single generation, we had created a performance jump that previously would have taken decades. But now, through relentless innovation, Nevera R goes even faster, while still maintaining much of the comfort and practicality that makes the Nevera a real, usable daily car. Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here."
As you’d expect, that record-breaking speed isn’t easily attainable. The Rimac Nevera R costs $2.7 million (€2.3 million) and production is limited to just 40 examples worldwide.
