Named ‘Best EV Bargain’ in 2025, after it was crowned ‘EV Deal of the Century’ last year, the accolade solidifies Dacia’s first electric car as the best bargain in the business.
Deliberately designed for towns and cities, the Spring might be compact in size, but it is big on style and bold with personality. Its value-for-money offering is market leading thanks to prices that start from only £14,995 on-the-road.
Jack Rix, Editor-In-Chief, Top Gear said: “For the second year running, the Dacia Spring is the biggest bargain on the planet EV. The Spring’s appeal is that it is everything that most electric cars aren’t: it’s not over-wrought or heavy-handed, it’s honest and enjoyable and manages to keep the dream of a low impact electric car alive.”
Conceived to make electric mobility accessible to all, the Spring offers comprehensive standard specification and everyday usability. It is available with a choice of a 45 hp or 65 hp electric motor powered by a compact 26.8 kWh battery for a driving range of up to 140 miles (WLTP mixed), or 186 miles (WLTP urban). That’s enough for up to six days of driving on average in the city, while its 30 kW DC charger can deliver an 80% charge from flat in less than an hour.
Luke Broad, Dacia Brand Director for the UK added: “When we launched Spring, we rewrote the EV rulebook. While others are now trying to follow these rules, it’s great that TopGear.com recognises we remain both the original and best value brand on the market. Spring’s price is so competitive that it’s one of the UK’s most affordable cars full stop, which is even more remarkable when its usability and standard equipment are considered.”
