
When the multinational automotive company Stellantis was formed in 2021 by the merger of Fiat Chrysler and Peugeot owner PSA Group, it resulted in a constellation of 14 iconic automotive brands. Fast forward to today, the fate of four of these brands is in limbo after a disappointing sales year in 2024 for the conglomerate, 15 percent down compared to 2023.
Stellantis’ obsession with so-called “efficiency” and some questionable business decisions from its former CEO Carlos Tavares has ruined several of its brands, including Jeep. However, the group’s planned changes for the near future are unlikely to impact Jeep or even Ram, but the future of legacy brands Chrysler, Dodge, Alfa Romeo, and Maserati is uncertain.
