But it’s no wonder he’s not getting carried away after a complicated start to his 2025 campaign.
The Briton, oozing confidence in his ability after a strong end to the 2024 season that yielded an outstanding win in the season-closer in Abu Dhabi, which confirmed McLaren’s first Teams’ Championship for more than two decades, kicked off his year in style with a triumph in a soaking Australian Grand Prix as Piastri made a small error that cost him second place.
